Jay Laurie is a writer based in Western Australia. A passion for the sea and travel, which come together in surfing journeys and, now and again, sailing expeditions to the Indian and Pacific Oceans and their coastlines, inspires his writing.
Into the Sea is his first novel (2013) and All the Running his second finished in 2025. Both were written in Western Australia and partly in the South Pacific with a host of insects throwing themselves at the screen. The sea was irresistibly distracting at times but, as always, gave perspective and fresh ideas.
He enjoys speaking about writing and his novels at festivals and schools when the opportunities arise.
